Está bien recordar este temazo tras dos meses de protestas en Chile. El tema tiene su tiempo, lo que refleja que los problemas políticos y sociales de Chile no son recientes precisamente.

La primera grabación del tema aparece en el álbum Heavy Weather (1977) de Weather Report (J. Zawinul, W. Shorter, J. Pastorious, A. Moreira y A. Mouzon) El grupo se originó como una extensión de las grabaciones electrónicas de Miles Davis.
En 1980 The Manhattan Transfer graban ésta versión vocal, con letra de Jon Hendricks, obtuvo el Premio Grammy a la mejor interpretación de jazz fusión y el de mejor arreglo vocal para dos o más voces a Janis Siegel.
La composición es un tributo de Joe Zawinul al legendario club de jazz de New York, Birdland.
